I also had this problem. After a suggestion from someone on this group
I started using FreeMem Professional( http://www.meikel.com/freemem ),
and I haven't had a crash or a freeze-up ever since. The program sits
in the background and frees up memory whenever necessary. There is also
a similar program called MemTurbo ( I think ).
