Steven,
Robin has some good ideas there - I would also look a the 20 meg of free
space on the TMG drive. All the temp files being created may be creating a
almost not enough space on that drive.
Is your Recycle Bin empty? Empty it.
I do not know what RR or CRW is doing with OLE or DDE when it runs but if it
is calling to your word processor then that application is also being
"opened" in the background and creating many more temporary files which
could be consuming all the free space on your temp drive.
You could also be running into a "swap file" space problem where Windows
runs out of space for adding to the swap file but does not have enough free
ram (on the swap file) to report the problem. It just gives up.
Is the "temp" folder empty? Open a DOS Windows and enter SET and press the
enter key. Where does the Temp= variable point to. Go to that folder and
clean it.
Run Scan Disk on each drive to free any "orphened" clusters.
Shut down to a "Restart in MS-DOS Mode", change into the TMG directory and
find the CONV_LOG.TXT file. Rename it with the REN command. Restart
Windows (just type Exit) and try again. It something had a hook on the file
like it was still open, that should clear it.

Subject: TMG-L: Cannot print to file - Error #3
The following message was sent to Tech Support but, so far, they have not
found the gremlin. Since so many of you are able to print reports to a
file, I know the problem is on my system. Does anyone know what
situation will generate this error message?
Whenever I try to print *any* report to file, I get:
Error #3
Could not open CONV_LOG.TXT on scratch drive
The file, CONV_LOG.TXT, is created each time with zero bytes in my TMGW
directory but nothing more happens. There is always an indication that
the desired file is being written to the proper directory, (with the grey
progress bar but not the red one) but that window is always followed by
the error message and nothing else exists.
I even tried to print a simple blank Family Group Sheet to use as an
e-mail attachment. I have about 20 MB free on my TMGW drive and 50 MB
free on "C".
This has happened whether I try to create an ASCII, WordPerfect or Word
document. On the assumption that somehow I lost a required file, I
re-installed ver4.0 Gold from the CD but even that did not help. I have
no trouble sending any of these reports to screen or printer so I assume
something *is* missing.
REPAIR does not show any problems. Any suggestions would be
appreciated.
