Probably the easiest way to do this is to create a dummy person in both
dataset. Add dummy tags citing each Source. Then create a new dataset
with just that person. You can then merge that person into the other
dataset. This works best when you start the second dataset from scratch.
But with some work (quite a bit) merging and renumbering in the second,
then you can accomplish what you want.
Once you have both with the same Sources for both, then you can have a
second dummy person to attach tags with any new sources. You can then
create the new dataset with just this second dummy person. Then merge this
new dataset into the second dataset. After you have moved (merged) the new
Sources into the second dataset, move the tags from the second dummy person
to the first dummy person. This keeps the one person with all sources and
clears the second person for any new sources.
Personally, I find it easier to keep all of my data in a single dataset.
If I need one family separate for some reason (like sending a copy to a
cousin), then it is very easy to create a new temporary dataset with just
that family. In addition to all having the same sources, I can also find
many of the interconnections between the families since they all lived in
the same area for many years.
Hope this helps -
