Steven,

That was a very good thought about tags. I hadn't really though about the
engagement without marriage. If I add an engagement tag w/o a marriage the
reports will still want to classify the couple as married so your idea of a
tag in the other category is probably a good idea

<< A word of caution with Tags. Although Birth-baptism and Death-burial
are logically related, there are other Tags that are *not* in the Other
group that can potentially cause consternation.
As I noted several months ago, the standard Engagement Tag is in the
Marriage group. While Baptism without Birth is impossible and Burial
without Death is frowned upon, it is much more common to have an
Engagement *without* a Marriage. If there is no subsequent marriage, the
engagement *will* appear in reports as a marriage. I therefore created
an additional Engaged Tag in the *Other* group to prevent these
embarrassing report notations.
While I haven't seen other tags that might prove equally embarrassing, I
suggest that caution be exercised whenever creating a custom Tag and be
sure of all implications when you decide which group to put the tag in.
