Greetings

Thanks to those who replied about my merging source headache.
What happened to me was not a unusual problem I take it. When still using
FTM, I uncovered a family history compiled in 1917, that was very total and
complete, to the tune of 611 descendants of a revolutionary war couple, on down
to 1917, when my mother-in-law was listed, at age 3. So, being the
genealogists that I am, every single birth, marriage and death date had the
source note of "Jane Doe's 1917 family history research".

There were no pages, or special notes to add, so every source note reads the
same.
Once I look up and confirm the dates, they will get an additional source
notation of the public document, but until then, I had a large volume of data
with a single source.

Imagine my frustration, when I find a genealogy program which will allow me to
document sources more completely, and then find that every entry of "Jane Doe's
family history research" is listed as a separate source, and I can't merge
them all at once. 2000 sources instead of one, all of them identical!!!!!

To quote Garfield.........."AAARRGGGGGGHHH"

Oh well, I keep plugging away.

Tracy
