Whenever I get information "through" someone else but I have not personally
seen the original record, I do the following. I cite the source the
information supposedly originated from and then I note: Source obtained
through "name of source I got info. from". In this way I recognize the
original source plus record (and acknowledge) who I got the information
through. At some future date I can also go to the original source myself
for verification.
