Subject: TMG-L: Descendency chart(indented) in HTML format truncating problem
Date: Thu, 2 Dec 1999 10:40:41 +1100

Hi to the list,
Sorry to bother everyone with the continuing saga of the Descendency chart
in HTML format not truncating as expected but I see another lister, Mike
Fox, is also experiencing the difficulty. Like Mike and Susan Copple, who I
think first raised the matter some little while ago, I was also keen to use
the format in my first very own Web site (still under construction!!!).

I took the liberty to have a peek inside one of these reports which does
work as expected. This was on Lee Hoffman's site , is called OREA1001.HTM,
and looks wonderful. Of interest to me was the fact that Lee's file and mine
had some differences which are obviously important. One difference that I
could see was that in the body of my file there where <BR> codes as well as
paragraph marks? while in Lee's file there where no <BR> codes. Frank Bax
kindly viewed a small sample of my file and noted two other important things
ie my file body is within <PRE> </PRE> codes and TMG did not appear to want
to put more than about 85 characters per line into the output file. He
thinks that this may be significant. BTW Frank tried to generate the same
report and got similar, unsatisfactory, results as I did.

I don't understand much of the above so I will pass it over to the experts.
What are we doing wrong (there are at least 4 of us now- the army is growing
(grin).
Kind regards,
Bill Crossland, (VK2-TPW)
