Am I missing something? Since the papers are more or less a book but are
unpublished, how about the "Diary or Journal (Manuscript)" or the
"Manuscript (Unfilmed)" categories. But, if a variation of the "Book
(Privately Printed)" category is preferred, it would be easy to create a
custom Source Category based on the "Book (Authored)" Templates. Something
like this could be used:
Full Footnote:
[AUTHOR], [TITLE] (Unpublished Manuscript< dated [PUBLISH DATE]>)<,
[REPOSITORY]. [REPOSITORY ADDRESS]><, [CD]><. Hereinafter cited as [SHORT
TITLE]>.

Short Footnote:
[AUTHOR], [SHORT TITLE]<, [CD]>.

Bibliography:
[AUTHOR]. [TITLE], (Unpublished Manuscript< dated [PUBLISH DATE]>)<.
[REPOSITORY], [REPOSITORY ADDRESS]>.

For example:
Full Footnote:
Edward Clay O'Rear, O'Rear Family Groupsheets (Unpublished Manuscript dated
1978). Lee Hoffman, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Lee Orear family sheet.
Hereinafter cited as O'Rear FGS.

Short Footnote:
O'Rear, O'Rear FGS, Carroll Orear sheet.

Bibliography:
O'Rear, Edward Clay. O'Rear Family Groupsheets, (Unpublished Manuscript
dated 1978). Lee Hoffman, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.

It may be desireable to add the [MEMO] or [COMMENTS] Source Element to the
Full Footnote and the Bibliography Templates to allow for additional
information or provenance.

Hope this helps -
