Judy,
I too recently imported from BK and am a newbie to TMG. Click on Tools,
Master Source List, highlight a source you want to look at, then click
Edit. You will see that TMG abbreviates your source, but the complete
citation from BK should still be there under Title. (Mine were all
imported as Book Authored type). You can change the abbreviation to one of
your own choosing.
If you're like me though, you probably won't like how TMG prints out the
endnotes: it's looking to me like I will have to individually edit over
350 sources to "fit" the TMG source format so that I get decent endnotes.
If that's the case, I'm still pondering whether I will truly make the
switch from BK (since I have over 6100 people entered there) and use TMG to
track in detail research on a few select individuals/lines, or ditch TMG
and continue to use paper and/or a word processor for detailed research
citations.
Some questions I have are: I'm assuming I'll have to manually flag the
approximately 5900 dead people I have entered? It drives me nuts that TMG
is showing as 215 years old and ? whether living people who clearly have
complete death dates entered. It also appears I will have to manually
indicate for each family the birth order if I want it to appear on
printouts even though birthdates are complete and they were entered in BK
in correct birth order?
