Select File=>Maintenance=>Optimize from the main menu. This will eliminate
the apparent duplicate places in your Master Place List (MPL).

By duplicate, I mean those lines in the MPL that are exactly the same (each
cell on one line is exactly the same as those on another line). But if you
have some that are almost the same (the city is in the City cell on one
line but in the County cell on another line with eveything else the same),
then you must change one by moving the city in the County cell to the City
cell (highlight the County cell, hold down the Control key and press the
left arrow key). Other misplaced entries may b moved in a similar manner.
If some entries are misspelled, the highlight that cell, press F5, and
edit the entry. Following your MPL editing session, you may want to
Optimize your dataset again.

Before you put in a lot of work on your new dataset, you may want to
re-import your data using a different setup. After selecting the option
File=>Import from...=>Brother's Keeper, the Brother's Keeper Import Screen
with display where you specify your BK5 dataset and the Destination Dataset
for TMG. At this point, click on the Setup button. This will allow you to
select various setup options for your import based on your needs. I'm not
sure this will make a difference in your source truncations, but it may.
You may want to try the import using various setting until you find the
best stup for your needs.

You might want to visit my website (URL below) and check out my TMG Tips &
Helps page. There are a lot of things that will be if interest to you.

Hope this helps -
