Subject: TMG-L: Windows 98--Thank you!

Thank you everyone who wrote to me personally and to the list about
Windows 98. Based on what most of you wrote, I went ahead and installed
Windows 98 over my Windows 95. My only problem to date was a problem with my
monitor screen. A call to Gateway quickly solved that (simply change the
controls on the monitor).

I feel very lucky to be a part of this list. Everyone is so very
helpful--both with TMG questions and with related computer issues.

For those thinking of buying TMG, please don't be put off by some of the
esoteric discussions about various program aspects. I've been using TMG for
about 4+ years, and I still don't use several of the features. For anyone
who wants the best way to keep genealogy data, TMG is the very best.
Entering basic data is not difficult. Just begin with simple birth,
marriage, and death dates and places and don't worry about all the other
features. After you master the basics, you can explore the other features
gradually when you need them. I'm still pleasantly surprised to find things
that I didn't know existed in the program!
