This is one of those things that is strictly personal opinion. But I would
say that the larger the dataset is the more beneficial the flag would be.
With smaller datasets, the tendancy would be to do much or all of a project
like editing or cleanup in a very few sessions and there would be less need
for a flag.
When I first imported my data (about six years ago), I had over 9600
people. I created such a custom flag and it was of tremndous help. I
still have that flag and still work on a few hundred of my original import
from time to time. One of these days (been saying that for awhile <g>) I
will bit the bullet and finish that process.
I have other flags used in a similar manner (i.e., keeping track of my
progress on a project for each person in my dataset). All are in various
stages of completion. But the point is that I know for each project who
has or has not been procssed.
