Gary,

I had exactly the same problem a few weeks ago when I accidentally allowed
my laptop battery to run down and the machine shut off. In my case the
repair routines did not work, but on zipping up and sending the file set to
Wholly Genes tech support they had it back repaired within a couple of
hours. It was an excellent service. Still, I hope you don't need to do that.
