Subject: TMG-L: Converstion to TMG from PEDIGREE - Source data

Hi,
I'm trying to convert to TMG from Pedigree.
This latter is a DOS based, UK genealogy program that supports Gedcom,
but also allows customisation of fields, reports etc etc.
Whereas I've fiddled around with the Gedcom tags in the group fields to
concatenate place names etc for TMG to parse them out into near enough
to the right places I haven't had as much success importing the source
data.
Specific questions:
1) can I trick TMG to retaining my RINs for the sources?
The notes in the FAQs refer to REFN for person RINs, will it work for
sources?
2) how can I make my source types compatable? Even changing "oral" to
"Interview" seemed not to make them recognised.
I've used types (level 1 tag "TYPE" after level 0 tag SOUR) such as
"bap", "birth cert", "elect. roll", "census", "death cert", "article"
which look compatable with yours, funnily enough, but they don't get
recognised. What exact wording would be?
Any that have imported seem to now be "Book" and I can't
spot the pattern for why those not imported have been rejected.
3) how can I ensure that ALL of my source records come across instead of
1/2 of them?
That's enough questions for starters.
Regards,
Lorna
