I was also baffled... I don't know enough about Aussie keyboards but on a
UK keyboard, look to the key immediately to the left of Z. This key has two
symbols - the first, lower case one, is the left slash that one uses at the
command prompt in MS-DOS to differentiate between directories e.g.
a:\root\first. The second, shifted symbol has what appears to be a colon
but using hyphens instead of dots - if you type it thus - | - you should see
a single vertical line. You will need two of these between each memo
element (I still remember my "supplementary" mistake of thinking that
because the key showed TWO hyphens, this meant that there were two lines
very close together <g>).

If Aussie keyboards are different, try looking for the left slash key then
see if the hyphen colon symbol is above it. All these symbols have special
names so I'm sure somebody will tells us what it is called. Also, the ASCII
character code if you're into using the ALT key + numerics (FWIW somehow I
always remember that ALT + 130 is french e acute).
