Hi Barbara,

I noticed that you have converted your data from PAF3. I purchased TMG last
spring and was told that the patch that would allow one to directly access
the PAF data was eminent, so I keep waiting for this to happen since I have
14,000 names in my data base. While waiting for this, I converted the data
to PAF's new 4.0 (a big improvement over PAF3). I was told if I sent my
database to TMG, they would convert it for me. That was back in early
December and I am still not receiving any conversion or communication from
them. I am really getting disillusioned with TMG even before using it.
Enough of my complaints!

What I really want to know is ...did you gedcom into TMG or was your data
converted? Since I have used
PAF for so many years (from early DOS days), most of my sources and much
other data is in the Notes. Did your notes convert okay or did you lose any
data? I sure would appreciate any hints for changing to TMG. with a large
data base.

Much as I like the promise of TMG, I am wondering if I am just setting
myself up for months of straightening out the data base.

Mary Alice
