Thanks, Lee, for your suggestion. It appears that I do indeed have the
fonts on my system -- along with 854 others! So I'll follow your suggestion
and put Windows on a strict font-diet and see if that helps. It is
astonishing how many "ordinary" programs gratuitously dump more fonts into
the Windows subdirectory without regard to what's already there, or whether
they are even wanted...It must be the software equivalent of the endless
banner ads on the Net...
