Microfilm is probably a better alternative at his point than electronic
data storage. Good microfilm (silver halide type) is supposed to be
good for at least 100 years. Unless the laws of physics change
drastically within that time, someone can always put together an optics
system to see the small images on the film. I don't believe this can be
said for volatile magnetic data media or other types of electronic media
where the encoding scheme be lost over time.
