> BTW, what is John Kent's Calisto program?

My program is still available using your web browser from
ftp.essex.ac.uk/pub/biology/calendar (330kbyte self extracting zip file).
If you fail to pick it up I'll happily email it to individuals. It has been
around in Windows format (32 bit) for a couple of years now, and in DOS form
for quite a bit longer. Its free, without strings, and I have not had any
complaints about it misbehaving!

from its blurb: Calisto will display the English calendar for any year
between AD100 and 2999. In addition the following may be seen: the dates
for Easter and other moveable & fixed Christian feast days and English
monarchs & their regnal year dates. The Comparator allows comparisons can be
made between calendars (Jewish, Moslem, for European countries before and
after the "change"). It has a date finder (that letter dated Satuday 24th
Feb when could it be. Finding 1855, 1866 or 1872 narrows down the
possibilities)

Date Range
100 - 2999Calendar, Easter dates & moveable feasts, Comparator
622 - 2999Islamic calendar
826 - 1964English monarchs
1154 - 1964English regnal years
1154 - 1751Old Style calendar

sorry to go on <g>
