I think I have it figured out now and I want to thank all of you who jumped
in on this. I read through all the links provided and checked all the
calendars. And downloaded John Kent's free calendar so I won't have to tax
my brain again on this.

Hugh Wilding hit the nail right on the head when he surmised that I was
trying to equate Old style/New style as Julian/Gregorian. I couldn't make
it work and hence confusion on this as I couldn't see the forest because of
all the trees.

(If I understand correctly)
During this time frame, in England & New England, our dating is based on the
Julian Calendar. Under the English there really were two New Years in a
calendar year. January 1'st was the traditional new Year and seen as such
by the masses but the LEGAL year started on March 25. So my grandmother who
was born on January 19 1666/67 was born in the "legal" year of 1666 but the
"popular" year of 1667......Julian vs Gregorian really has nothing to do
with it and that is where I got lost.

I now know more than I ever wanted to know on this subject, but it was a
really an enlightening conversation.

Thanks again to all,
Norb
