Let me echo Ken Nelson's advice to go easy on the custom tags. For TMG
beginners I urge you to use the EVENt-Misc tag and learn how to make your
memo sentence read well in your reports. You know that you can go to Lee
Hoffman's web page for a report definition for a one generation Genealogy
Report to help you learn how to enter memo and source information so that
they will read well in reports.
Our family association began using TMG with release 1.2 and created quite a
few custom tags. Much later we learned that when you do a GEDCOM to a
cousin, the tags of the GEDCOM type NOTE do not include date or place
information!!! This is part of the GEDCOM definition for NOTE. Needless to
say most of our custom tags were set to the GEDCOM type NOTE.
Hope this helps,
George
