Select Tools=>Character Map from the top menu to display the Character Map
window. You may select a desired font, but it is recommended that you
select the Arial TrueType font. The en and em dashes are located on the
fourth line unde the V & W characters. Highlight the desired character and
click on the Select button to place the character in the Characters to Copy
field. You may select as many characters as you wish in this manner. When
finished selecting characters, click on the Copy button to place the
character(s) on the Windows Clipboard. You may close the Character Map
window at this time, if desired. (You may open it again in the same way
later).
With the cursor located where you want the special characters, select
Edit=>Paste from the top menu (or press Control-V).
Hope this helps -
