Here's what I do. I enter whatever source I have for parents and
grandparents -- even great grandparents. I haven't sought documentation
for them except in a few cases where I need it to work farther back.

I have no particular reason, except that I prefer to expend my energy
solving problems, not documenting what I already know to be the case. Let
my successors fill in the blanks.
