Arlene,
My sister and I were born at the same hospital in Brooklyn, also. My mother
always said that she was born and brought up in Brooklyn, along with her
siblings. But in looking for the records, I found that she, her brother, and
one sister, were born in the town of New Utrecht, which did not become part
of Brooklyn until some time in 1894. Somewhat the same for Flatbush,
Flatlands, Gravesend, and others.
