Regarding a numbering system for pictures, I have been using a system where
each picture has a letter and a three digit number.
I have used the letters 'p' for pics of a Person; 'g' for a Group of people;
'v' for a View; and 'd' for a scanned Document. I then number each type
sequentially giving me collections starting:
p001, g001 etc. I also call the corresponding scanned image files by these
names.
Using this system does not depend upon identification of the subject. Like
most people, I suppose, I have some photos I can guess who the subject is
and others I just have no idea who they are, but maybe one day...
In TMG you might consider using a History type tag for your photos. This has
the advantage that it can be removed from the person view whilst leaving all
the other tags present, which may be useful if you have many pictures of
certain people. The disadvantage of the history tag is that all those linked
must be witnesses, principals are not allowed.
Regards.
