You did not ask me, but since I have aleady commented about
the misunderstanding, I cannot resist commenting again. Let's
assume a range of activities, with genealogy at one end of the
range and family history at the other. I expect it is a rare person
working exclusively at either end, but assume the possibility for
a minute, please.

When I started, years ago, my efforts were at what I would call
pure genealogy to the extreme. The only thing I tried to do was
fill in the child-parents-child-parents-child-parents... on
pedigree charts. That was nothing but genealogy.

I soon realized that other things were more important to me, and
in recent years I inherited an enormous collection of family items
(books, diaries, letters, documents, maps, photos, and more).
My work now is at the other end or the range--I come close to
ignoring research into the child-parents sequences, and I am
writing booklets explaining to my children all I know, and can learn
about these items. Of course, I am doing a little genealogy, but
most of my effort is family history.

Most folk are in the middle somewhere, but I am one who has
moved from one end to a spot near he other.

Does this help? Do you see where I am?
