What is really the issue here?
Each person has unique situations in their families. I certainly have.
How I choose to show them in my data base is uniquely my decision. My data
base is a combination family history/genealogy data base.
As the family genealogist/historian, do I want to exclude the fact that two
unmarried spinster sisters or women/men lived together? Do I make a
judgement on their lifestyle/relationship? No, I report the facts. They
could simply be roommates, sharing the bills. They could also be living
together because of a medical/economic situation. Genealogy/history is a
factual hobby....not a judgemental one.
As far as I'm concerned, this is really a moot point and each individual
person has to make their own decision on how much to include/exclude in
their records for posterity.
