Do not also *eschew* the word "cohabit" for use as an event tag
in this situation.

The word "cohabit" also suffers from lack of attention. It is
defined by my dictionary to mean: "to live together as or as if
husband and wife." Note the "as or as if" part of the
definition which makes it applicable to a couple living together
with or without the benefit of a marriage ceremony. One could
also be married but not cohabit with one's spouse.
