Well, I may have spoken out of turn. Ida McCormick made some
comments that made me start prowling in my records. From following
the birth certificates of my grandsons I can see there was a change
between 1993 and 1997. At least until August 1993 when our oldest
grandson was born, you ordered the birth certificates from the county
-- in this case Dallas County. But, I noted on my second grandson,
born in 1997, the form they received from the county was very brief
with the statement that the original was at the Tx. Health Dept. in
Austin. Since the birth certificate that my children had for #2 was
the pits, I ordered the "long form" from Austin. It does give much
more than the other but not as much as the ones on my children.
In any case -- I do need to make some calls to see what the status is
on my son's birth cert. Then, if they tell me they still have the
amendment filed separately, I will rev up my broom.
Linda
