I strongly support Timothy's request for automatically entering the same
surety value for both P1 and P2. I agree it is a minor matter, however,
often in life it is the minor matters that irritate most. Particularly in
this case where it really is difficult to understand the reasoning why only
one surety value is set automatically.

It certainly must be a strange case where the surety would be different for
the two participants in a marriage. I believe the majority (95%?, 99%?) of
the cases where I enter a marriage and I enter both persons, this is based
on a single document (i.e., the same citation would apply for both), and
certainly the surety level of this would be the same for both spouses. And
which of the spouses you start with is just chance, isn't it?

The only exception that comes to mind is where I enter a marriage by
inference from other data like when a child's father is mentioned in one
document and its mother in another. And then I would have two different
citations and the above would not apply. (But since they might not actually
be married - they may not necessarily be, you know - I put the surety level
at 0 (or at least not higher than 1) for both, again the same surety level
for the marriage event even with different citations.)

So, on the wish list for 5.0 (or earlier?)

Yes this a minor inconvenience but personnally I would rather have the
P1 surety blank as it may be different than the name/relationship surety
TMG uses. TMG does not know what surety to put in for P2.

Also you have to open the citation to add the sureties for the date,
place and memo.
