For census data, there is I believe a more complete way to enter the
data in TMG. It uses Diana Begeman's method of census keeping.

This is a sample memo sentence from one entry for 1860:
Benjamin is listed as a 33 year old male farmer. His real estate is
valued at $1200 and his personal estate at $305. He was born in New
Hampshire. || B.F. Reed
This method uses every scrap of data from the census to paint a
picture. I like it because when I want to know what a census said
about a person, I know exactly. It takes some leatning, but when I
open a person view for the head of household I can see who was listed
with that person for each and every sentence in which he/she was head.
