Subject: [TMG] GEDCOM Export quirk
Date: Wed, 02 Aug 2000 15:15:29 +0930

I have some custom tags (census info) that I tried to export to GEDCOM from
TMG (I knew that the witness stuff would not export but I at least wanted
my tag memos.) At first they would not export at all even though they had
blank GEDCOM label as is required to see your custom tag as the EVEN /
TYPE. Then I realized that they had 2 principals. I set the second
Principal ID# to zero and they export OK but not very usefully!!

Is this another known limitation of GEDCOM - that EVEN events can't have 2
principals?

From my examination of the GEDCOM files created it seems very likely that
this is so.

If not, what am I doing wrong?

Yet another reason to ditch this *arcane* method of data interchange.

Looks like another stretch at the Programmers Workbench. No CRW report will
get out what I want. About 4 reports cut-and-pasted might just to it - but
I would like to do produce the report regularly instead of waving a mouse's
tail each time.
