Greetings, list:

I'm not picking on JF, just using the message as an example. My e-mail client is set up to show me a lot of header information. So here is an observation.

1. The message header includes the following lines:
X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook IMO, Build 9.0.2416 (9.0.2910.0)
X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V5.00.2615.200
Importance: Normal
X-MIME-Autoconverted: from quoted-printable to 8bit by lists5.rootsweb.com id e74B02G26351

2. Each of the messages with the funky characters that I have noticed was produced by Microsoft Outlook. I have not gone back and reviewed all the previous messages (they went poof . . .).

3. This is NOT happening on other Rootsweb mailing lists of which I am a member (UFT, VERMONT, VTWINDSO, VTRUTLAN, etc.) and surely there are people on those lists using MS Outlook.

4. The last header line I quoted above leads me to think that a conversion routine is ALREADY in place, and may be mis-configured or mis-functioning for TMG-L.

Hope this is of some assistance.

Darrell
