Subject: [TMG] John Cardinal's TMG Utility - DonorWare!

I sent a message to the list on 3 Aug 2000 about a new version of my
utility. I have some news about it that I wanted to share with you.
The primary new feature--Set Person Field--is a little difficult to explain.
A couple of users have volunteered to write up an example. Once the examples
are available I think it will make more sense.
I have had only one person report difficulty with the new version, and that
was with the install program (which has been the bane of my existence <g>!).
Many people have installed it successfully.
The biggest news, however, is that I have decided to change the program from
freeware to "donorware". I am now asking satisfied users to make a donation
on my behalf to the PMC/Jimmy Fund, a fund-raising event to benefit the
Jimmy Fund of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The "PMC" is the "Pan-Mass
Challenge", a two-day, 192-mile bicycle ride. Riders promise to raise a
minimum of $1500; I have ridden it the last three years, including last
weekend. See the following link for more details:

This change is partly in response to the many users who have suggested that
I change my utility to shareware, and partly in response to the suffering I
have witnessed this year. Those of you who have lost a loved one to cancer,
or who are cancer survivors yourselves, know all about it. I'd like to say
more, but I do not want to go any further off-topic so I will leave it at
that.
If you have any questions about my utility, either how it works or how to
donate, please contact me directly.
John
P.S. Special thanks to everyone who sent kinds emails over the past few
days.
