I have a ghost spouse like this also. The father has been married 2 times,
with a child from each marriage. However his family view shows 3 spouses and
the 1st one has no ID and is a (? ?) spouse. When I entered the 2nd child I
did not know the name of her mother, but I knew that there was a marriage.
Possibly I chose the option to not link any specific person at that time.
Later, I learned the mothers name, entered her as a new person, and made the
link to her child, and a marriage tag for the mother and father. Now I cannot
get rid of the (? ?) spouse. Both children are properly linked to the correct
mothers. This spouse also generates a line about 'no children of husband and
unknown spouse' on certain reports.
Reindex, optimize, and repair have not worked.

Is there any way to get rid of this ghost? Unlike Rob, I'm not a newbie, but
I still have the problem!
