For example; duplicate cemetery fact entries in FTM came across as one cemetery tag and one birth tag. If I try to change the birth tag type I can only see birth related event types like Birth, Birth-Still, Christening, etc. I can't change it to cemetery.
TMG tags are arranged in several groups. Birth, Christening, and the like that are often used to estimate a birth date are in one group. Other groups include Name, Death, Burial, and Other. You cannot change an existing tag from one group to another, as you have noticed.
If you have not done too much editing in TMG, you might go back and experiment with importing with different options for the FTM "Facts." If this isn't workable, you will have to copy the information from the incorrect Tags to new ones.
