Great Joe,

Your memory serves you well. I ran a test using two small "TEST" data files.
One that had Suffix and Prefix data and one that did not. I compared the way my
old genealogy program exported that file and the way TMG exported the file (with
identical data entered from the TMG screens).

I was surprised to see that TMG considers my OLD PROGRAM'S GEDCOM labels, "NPFX"
and "NSFX" (which are the prefix and suffix names), as TMG "Name-Var". And that
was where I was getting all the weird alternate names of "Sr.", "Jr.", "Doctor"
and so forth.

I think I have the problem pretty well figured out but have no idea of how to
eliminate the problem with my OLD PROGRAM'S exports (short of manually removing
them from the old program's database).

And you're absolutely correct on the TITL label. Apparently that is the "Title"
label and tells the program what should be used for the individual's Title.

I am not to sharp on GEDCOM so please take my comments with a grain of salt.
Just learning and enjoying every minute of it.

Later,
David
