Paula, if you really mean what you are saying, I would change your memos
to fit the sentence structure.

If the memo is included in the middle of a sentence then the memo should
usually start with lower case and have no period at the end.

In an occupation tag, the memo will be "a storekeeper" and the sentence
will read "John Jones was a store keeper in 1921 in Gloucester"

If the memo comes at the end of the sentence and you want the memo to
print as a separate sentence, the begin the memo with a period, one or
two spaces and then start the words with a capital. Do not put a period
at the end of the memo.

In a census tag the memo would be ". He was a mariner and had a net
worth of $500" The sentence would read "On 1 Apr 1850, John Brown was
in the census in Gloucester MA. He was a mariner and had a net worth of
$500."

If you have already edited the death tag for the person then the revised
tag will not apply. You can get the new sentence structure to work in
edited tags by going to the sentence structure in the tag and deleting
the edited sentence. The revised default will then take over.

When you say "to fit my memos" do you really mean add a source?
