Teresa,
My NT 4.0 PC was starting to act a little oddly lately, so I downloaded and
used a free defrag utility from ZDNet.com. I hadn't defragmented my hard
drive in quite some time so it took about an hour to do on a 3GB drive. So
far it seems to be doing as I hoped it would. Things in general launch and
shutdown more quickly. What prompted me to do this was that MS Outlook was
starting to hang when I exited the program. It works fine now.
You might want to try something like that. As a general caution to all
users out there, if you are having continuing problems with your PC you
really should also update and run your anti-virus software.

Okay,
I had to write because my computer has days when it seems to be so slow that
it hardly moves. On those days, I have noticed that Windows won't shut
down.
Could this be a common thread? I haven't worked on it today, so I can't
say
how it is doing.
