The Roots Web review Vol. 4, Number 8 on 21 Feb. 2001 the following was
included;
"NEWS AND NOTES FROM ROOTS WEB
ROOTS WEB TAKES A BREAK. Starting at 8 a.m. PST (11 a.m. EST;
4 p.m. GMT) on Friday, 23 February, Roots Web will begin a
planned temporary downtime for maintenance of its servers and
hosting process. It will limit this downtime as much as
possible, and will return with increased performance and
reliability for future growth.
In the meantime, please take time to visit Roots Web's sister
sites -- Ancestry.com and FamilyHistory.com -- where you will
find additional tools such as message boards, communities, and
databases to help you in the search for your ancestors."
Unfortunately, I did not read that one until someone mentioned it earlier, that
they did announce a maintenance time. I should read my e-mail more carefully,
so I too don't panic thinking the Mysterious "Unsubscriber Monster" was after me
again. :-)
Respectfully,
Richard M. O'Brien
