Be careful of Custom Templates. They would also disappear in a switch.
However, you may be meaning that you are customizing the Patterns on the
Output Forms tab of the Source Definition Screen. What I mean is that I
am using the word "template(s)" to refer to format(s) on a global basis
while "Pattern(s)" refers to more or less the same formats except on a
Source by Source basis. So changing or initializing Source Category
options (on a global basis) will cause any customized Source Category to be
changed to the standard formats (Templates). But any Source Definition
that has the Pattern(s) altered on the Output Forms tab will remain.
