Ron ---
This has long been a problem with both TMG and UFT. The problem apparently
lies in a conflict between the underlaying FoxPro engine (which powers both
TMG and UFT) and another program. There have been several programs
suspected to contribute to this condition --- Outlook (or Outlook Express),
Quickbooks, and probably two or three more. Not everyone has the problem
and no one apparently has ever found a real solution.
The usual remedy to the problem is to first start TMG when you turn on your
machine. This has apparently solved the problem in over 99% of the
cases. If you don't do this and you have the problem condition, restart
your machine before you start TMG. This prevents the lockup and subsequent
scandisk operation.
It is expected that ver 5.0 will permanently solve the problem.
