I am a new user and am completely confused. What will a read-only FTST do
for a user? Read-only, to me, means no ability to input data, change data,
or out-put data. Am I wrong?

Just found this at www.whollygenes.com:
Family Tree SuperTools uses a fully 32-bit interface and supports long file
names, right-click menus, etc. It is effectively a read-only version of The
Master Genealogist (TMG) v5.0, which is under development.
Family Tree SuperTools retails for $19.95 as a downloadable utility.
Advance orders are now being accepted for $14.95. CD-ROM is $5.00 extra
plus shipping. Registered users of TMG v4.0 who place an advance order for
FTST will also receive a credit of $14.95 toward their later upgrade to
TMG5.
Note (23 May 2001): Release has been delayed longer than expected in order
to incorporate dramatic changes that have been suggested by our beta
testers. Advance orders are being accepted. Credit cards will NOT be charged
until the product is released. Watch our web site for an announcement of
release.
Sounds like there's progress.
Diane
