Two cents worth alert:
I am going to try to be brief. This fits in with other frequent occurrences such as "Microsoft Concedes Software Market Segment", and "Red Sox Beat Cubs, Win World Series".
1. If any topic is worth comment, it is worth getting the facts right. Any genealogist serious enough to use TMG knows better than to assume. This is aimed at statements regarding prepayment and subcontractors, but may be applied as useful.
2. Some of us don't gripe a lot, but still don't think the interface of v. 4 has much to commend it.
3. It would be easy to forward announcements posted on the WG web site to interested mailing lists. I would like to see that done for TMG-L. If WG will not do this, I will volunteer (with permission, of course).
4. When given the opportunity, I will pay for v. 5 and recommence data entry. I have no reason to suspect I will change my mind. HOWEVER, this statement has an expiration date; I just don't know when it is, although it is not imminent.
5. I am ambivalent about Bob V's comments about programming changes in response to beta testing. At the moment, I am greatly encouraged by what I see as an opportunity for fundamental improvement. Still, with each passing day I move -- just a teeny weeny bit -- toward discouragement about when I will actually get to *USE* TMG again.
Further say I naught (at this time).
