Hi Dean,
There is a chart in the book "The Source" that breaks down the
deceased individuals included in the Death Master file versus all US
deaths (1962-1991). For 1967 less than 50% of all reported US deaths
are included on SSDI.
If you have this book, you'll find the chart on page 638.
