Thanks everyone for your help. Sorry for the confusion. I asked the
question without looking at my TMG file and relied on my memory, which was
faulty. I knew I wanted a lower case u with an umlaut, but thought the
umlaut was the tilde not the two dots.

Dick, the ALT 252 does work in TMG.

To Tami Dolan:

You asked for a lower case letter u with umlaut, but you then used a tilde
sign to represent the umlaut sign. I'm a bit confused, because I thought
the umlaut sign was two dots over the letter, not a tilde. I don't know
how to do a lower case u with a tilde sign over it, but a lower case umlaut
u (u with two dots over) is ALT 0252 (hold down alt key and type 0252 on
keypad) in Windows. Have no idea if this works in TMG.
