I am also having the same issue with editing. I followed Chuck's suggestion
and ordered both books. If you check Amazon.com they have the Lackey book
(used - in excellent condition) for under $5.00.

First, do you have a copy of the citation manual that you are using? In
other words, if you are using Mills based cites, do you have a copy of
EVIDENCE by E.S. Mills? If using Lackey cites, do you have CITE by R.S.
Lackey? If you don't, get a copy. They both have examples of what your
citations should look like (Mills in the back of the book; Lackey throughout
the text), and Lackey explains each element of each of the 14 source types.
Of course, read it and do what it advises.
You can get a copy from, among other places, www.amazon.com,
www.barnesandnoble.com, http://shops.ancestry.com, and probably any
genealogy bookstore, on or off-line.
I've created a CLEAN flag to let me know what persons I've "cleaned"
and are in correct order. I've included a letter of P in that flag for
"Part", meaning that I've worked on correcting that person, but more work is
needed. I'm not sure how that "value" will work out. When I imported from
FTM I went down the MSL and then the MRL and attempted to correct each entry
before I did anything else. But then I was citing from the beginning.
Resolve to enter any future sources correctly and completely, and try to
include as much as you know now in the source. Then try to find the rest of
the data.
It comes down to going to each person's Person View, running an
individual narrative or one generation Journal Narrative and seeing if
everything looks right, including cites. Add sureties, if you wish. Make
those sentences read correctly. It probably doesn't read right, considering
that FTM and TMG enter data differently. TMG uses sentences; FTM doesn't.
Good luck.
