Donna,

I use a freeware program called AllChars and really like it.

It stays in the background and you use the Ctrl key plus a combination of letters that make sense.
I use it with TMG, my translation program, and even WordPerfect and have never had any problems with
it. A "รง" would be Ctrl+,+c.
