Subject: [TMG] Entering places from Switzerland?
Please forgive my ignorance about this subject, but I'm now researching my
father's side of the family and this is the first time I'm having to use
places other than in the US. Both sets of his grandparents came to the US
in the very late 1800's or very early 1900's. Both sides are of German
descendant but neither side were living in Germany when they
immigrated. His maternal grandparents were Volga (Russia) Germans, and
I've found how a pretty clear explanation of how to enter those places in
my database. So that one is not a problem
But his paternal grandparents came from Basel, Switzerland. This is what
I
need help on. I know Basel is considered a Canton, but what is the
equivalent of a Canton? Is it like a city, county, or state?

(Yes, my Schnell's were the ones from Basel)
