First off, are you using them as external exhibits or internal exhibits? I
always do transcriptions as internal exhibits, and do it thus:
First, the file you import from has to be a plain text (.txt) file. I
always keep a blank text file called "copy" on my desktop to use for
this. Open your transcription, select and copy all the text, then open the
"copy" text file and paste that newly copied text there, deleting any other
text that may be present. Close the copy.txt, and use that as your import
file in the exhibit definition screen of TMG. TMG will import the text
from that file into its own format, where it can be edited from TMG, and
store it with the rest of your TMG data files. You won't have to access
the original transcription again.
External text exhibits will probably be treated differently. But I find
TMG a good way to store transcriptions. I use this method both for the
individual tags extracted from that transcription and for the source.
Hope this helps....
